Michael King attended Binghamton University, State University of New York,
for his undergraduate education, graduating in 2004. Soon after, he was
accepted into Michigan State University College of Law, where he earned
his Juris Doctor degree in 2007 and was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan
for the practice of law.
Michael King has significant experience in the areas of family law and
criminal law. From 2007 to 2008, he clerked for the 49th Circuit Court, Mecosta County Courthouse, which generally handles cases
at the trial level, such as felony criminal cases, family law matters,
and civil suits seeking damages of more than $25,000.
In 2009, Michael also graduated from the Hillman Advocacy Program, where
he developed his courtroom skills from some of Michigan’s foremost
accomplished trial advocates.
After his admission to the bar, Michael served as an Assistant Attorney
General for the State of Michigan until 2017. After nearly a decade of
public service, Michael began his private practice at Michael O. King,
Jr. PC from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, he started working as the Managing
Attorney at The Wealthy Street Law Firm in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Giving Back to the Community
Michael King actively participates in organizations dedicated to promoting
the interests of the local community. He has served as a troop leader
for the Boy Scouts of America in both Lansing, Michigan, and Binghamton,
New York, guiding the youth on their journeys to become capable community
leaders in their own right. Michael is also a volunteer for Haven House
of Lansing, which provides emergency shelter and support services for
homeless families in East Lansing.
Additionally, Michael is an active member of the legal community, sharing
his knowledge and experience with prospective new attorneys by serving
as a guest lecturer at Michigan State University College of Law from 2009 to 2012.
